You might have noticed if you read Manga Blog that there’s a new site called MangaViews.com which showcases a bunch of really interesting manga reviews. So far I reckon, after having become a member of the site to contribute stuff to it, it has the potential to really do good for the aniblogosphere in terms of reviewing licensed manga. The reviews can at the moment be accessed over time as more manga reviews are added, but it also provides news stories about recent manga publications which are relevant to newcomers and veteran manga readers alike.

Months ago, someone told me that they found a substantial section on anime in a guide to teaching autistic children. Of all places, I wondered, why there? As it turns out, many autistic children like anime because the facial expressions and gestures are easy to understand. For people with autism, who normally have immense trouble reading the emotions of others, anime characters are a way for them to participate in a social arena that the rest of us hardly think about. – 2-D Teleidoscope

So I finished the first volume of the #RODLiveTweet marathon for the Read or Die manga. There are three reasons why I’m doing this live tweeting of Read or Die:
1: Chris Sims inspired me to live blog/tweet something.
2: Because it’s really, really fun to do.
3: Because if I can’t have a sense of humor about Read or Die, I’m no better than the Twilight fangirls.

This post made me do some thinking, and put me in mind of the incredibly heartwrenching harmonica melody “Wasureji no Teenage” from Genshiken. This song ALWAYS makes me do some thinking, and reminds me of the former post.
Why that song is sad, contains spoilers which I will not reveal. All I can say is that it’s to do with Madarame.

So I went to a funeral today. Funerals are some of the most depressing events a family member can experience as an individual, even when you don’t know the person who died very well. The whole experience is a confusing clusterfizzle of emotions on the tragic spectrum.

Ok, so E3 is over for 2009 so I have seen a lot of what is being shown at E3. Let me get this over with.

I want to do something new with my new year of blogging. It’s been a whole year since I’ve started blogging seriously and I’m tired of being stuck in the same box all the time of having to review just anime, manga and J-RPGs. I’m not quitting those things, it’s just that there’s a whole lot more going on in my life that I’m interested in that I could be talking about as well.
