New Year and Birthday Bonza Bonanza!

This is my birthday present. It hasn’t arrived yet but it will be awesome.

Considering Baka-Raptor has already done a New Years post before I have, and even the elusive ninja blogger Hynavian has come out of her Ninja Turtle shell, I reckon I have some explaining to do on why my Evangelion post is late and why I haven’t informed people it was my birthday. I am now twenty years old, a year away from being so legal worldwide it hurts to think how many countries other than Australia I will be able to drink in. That’s the thing about Australia, even though our current government sucks, the chances of political suicide over the impending internet filter are high. Talking about politics is important, but talking about politics and anxiety over politics all the time is boring.

So what of my twentieth birthday celebrations? Well, it was so low key you’d need a microphone to pick up the noise frequency! (Bad pun, BAD pun!) – but there is some good news coming my way, because I was offered a place at the University I wanted to go to, and I also got a new iMac for my birthday present to replace my seven year old computer that died recently but still outlasted the majority of modern marriages.

Testing out the iMac in the Mac shop near Broadway today really convinced me that I had made the right choice, I don’t intend to do much illustrating anymore, apart from my attempt at an upcoming and hilarious children’s book, but it certainly has lots of graphic capabilities for my photography for example. My photography is getting pretty serious now, why don’t you check out my Flickr page?

I also have some reading projects to get done, such as Moby Dick and Faust 1 and 2. No, not the Goethe Faust, but the Japanese mook Faust that comes in two English translated volumes. I also have to review the Speed Racer manga for you all. Glorious Speed Racer.

I like vintage manga so this manga might be worth a shot. Did I mention it’s Speed Racer?

I should also mention that my brother’s girlfriend is visiting soon and I have to “sell” my brother as a date-able entity by not being annoying enough that she’d dump him just to av0id ME.

That’s about it for now, I’ll see you guys when the Evangelion post is up, hopefully.

Why is that an unimpressive birthday present? The one in the Mac shop was awesome, drew with an Intuos tablet on it!

You want a low key birthday? Beat this: I was planning to celebrate my birthday by getting some Nachos at Taco Bell. Then I got lazy and took a nap, so I went the next day instead. The End.

Baka-Raptor is totally lameness. You could’ve at least went somewhere nice enough that you have to leave a tip. You know, ’cause it’s your b-day and all. Like Denny’s. LMAO. Let me tell you about my low-key b-day. I was somewhere in the forests of Siberia under a full moon. Everything was frozen solid at -20c, but that was OK as Женя and me had a nice fire going. I barbequed some mutton and we drank some vodka. The end. Hahahhaha, your American middle class lifestyle sucks major Taco Bell! Nice iMac Jacob, I’m jealous – now I’ll have to upgrade…
